Microneedling

Microneedling is a corrective treatment that creates thousands of micro-channels in the skin’s matrix. This initiates and stimulates the body’s own natural healing and regenerative response, and allows specialized products such as hyaluronic acid or PRP to penetrate the dermal layers.

Upgrade Your Results with PRP Microneedling (AKA the “vampire facial”)
Microneedling is well-known for stimulating collagen and improving skin texture over time. When combined with PRP (platelet-rich plasma), the treatment is enhanced with your body’s own growth factors, which can support improved healing, reduced inflammation, and more refined overall results. While microneedling is highly effective on its own, PRP can take your results a step further — especially for concerns like acne scars, texture, and more advanced signs of aging.

Microneedling treats skin conditions including:

  • Aging/sun-damaged skin
  • Hyperpigmentation, including melasma
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rosacea
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Acne scars
  • Surgical Scars
  • Stretch Marks
  • Hair Loss

What do you use with Microneedling?

Hyaluronic Acid or Platelet Rich Plasma is microneedled into the skin to promote collagen production and enhance tissue regeneration
Treatment Recommendation: A series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart followed by treatments every 6-12 months for maintenance of results.

FAQs

What is the downtime for microneedling?

Microneedling will cause facial redness for about 24-48 hours after treatment. Most people can return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure for a week after the procedure, and SPF can be worn starting the next day after treatment.

The following week after treatment, it is expected to have some minor flaking/skin shedding. It is recommended to avoid any retinol/Retin-A products for one week after treatment
Purging is a normal side effect after microneedling. For some, it is minimal and for others it can be significant. This should resolve in 10-14 days post treatment.

The skin texture will continue to improve over the next 90 days.

A “vampire facial” is a microneedling using PRP (platelet rich plasma) and combines the collagen-stimulating benefits of microneedling with the regenerative power of your body’s own growth factors. This advanced approach can help enhance skin renewal, support faster recovery, and improve overall skin quality, making it an excellent option for patients looking for more noticeable, comprehensive skin rejuvenation. This treatment is great for improving fine lines, acne scars/scars, texture, and other signs of aging.

We use the Dermapen DP4, an FDA-cleared device that used a sterile, single-use cartridge to prevent cross-contamination. The Advanced Oscillating Vertical Needle™ (AOVN) Technology allows for increased speed, precision and safety that eliminates the risk of scratching or dragging for a smooth, comfortable treatment.

While PRP has amazing regenerative effects, it is not required to achieve your goals with microneedling.
There are multiple options for boosters such as PDO AfterGlo and LumEnvy (PDRN) that deliver amazing results without the use of PRP.

The most common treatment areas include the face, neck and chest area. We also have the ability to treat damaged skin from stretch marks, injury scars, and surgical scars over 6 months old.

If you have had a recent procedure such as laser treatments or a facelift, we require waiting atleast 6 weeks since treatment before microneedling the area.

If you have been on Accutane, we require waiting 6 months from completing the medication before a microneedling treatment will be done.
